The theme of this activity is “Writing Competency Improvement Workshop for Library Managers” which was carried out on the date 16 November 2019 at the IAIN Kediri Library. The event was officially opened by the Chairperson of the Dra Central Apptis. Labibah Zain, M.Lis and previously delivered by the Chair of the Committee from the Head of the IAIN Kediri Komarudin Library, S.AG., S.S., M.Hum and remarks from the chairman of APPTIS East Java Kardi, S.Ag., S.S., M.Hum This activity was attended by as many librarians 50 people from PTKIN/PTKI throughout East Java libraries with great enthusiasm.
Chairman Central APPTIS, Dra. Labibah Zain, M.LIS., in his speech, very appreciate all the efforts of the library and the support of the IAIN library Kediri provides various facilities for the East Java Muswil event and workshops can be held well at the IAIN Kediri Library. Then he explained that APPTIS East Java was a library pioneer center and appreciates the enthusiasm of librarians regarding writing and its publication. So that it can be an encouragement for all APPTIS librarians Indonesia.
The series of activities begins with 2 (two) workshops ie :
- Workshop Development of Librarianship Research in Indonesia : A Content Analysis with facilitator Mufid,S.Ag., S.S., M.Hum (Associate Librarian at UIN Malik Ibrahim Malang).
- Mufid explained the development of PTKIN librarianship research studies in Indonesia regarding scientific journal publications with a very interesting presentation. The results of the analysis related to this research study are available 42 librarianship journals published in Indonesia and only 26 journal that can be accessed online, 26 Journals are analyzed based on the research topic, study methods, and mapping the many contributions of librarians, especially at PTKIN. According to Mufid, based on recaps from journals that have been made online, there are 15 PTKIN's most productive librarian 2014-2019 in writing journal publications and spread across various librarianship journals in Indonesia. The topic that is discussed a lot is about information seeking behaviour and retrieval, information literacy And library autimation.
- The second session continued with a workshop about Techniques and Strategies for Writing Scientific Papers with facilitator Dr. Wiji Suwarno, S.Pd.I., S.IP., M.Hum. Wiji Suwarno's turn to 'brainwash’ participants with writing skills. According to Wiji Suwarno, explained that writing is to be happy. This is evident from the results of his work related to the field of writing, both journal publications and textbooks on librarianship. That Indonesia currently has an abundance of information products, It is proven that Indonesia is ranked number one 17 International bidang library science. Besides that, Wiji explained to participants regarding access to addresses www.internetlivestats.com regarding the total number of internet and social media users throughout Indonesia. In this session the presenter invites participants to writing skill practice by dividing into 8 group to create mind mapping and create roadmap writing. Participants are invited to compose form draft which contains several references for discussing related objects by making connecting sentences/or explanatory sentences with the strength of the knowledge you have about the references (In this section, research or non-research can be carried out to strengthen the facts). Next, the presenter invited participants to paraphrase sentences that were not from fundamental scientific knowledge, like: definition, formula, positive law and ends with the description, by making conclusions.
Second day date 17 November 2019, IAIN Tulungagung received a visit from APPTIS East Java, namely librarians from various regions including Kediri librarians, Surabaya and cannot be mentioned one by one.
