Tulungagung, 01 July 2025 — UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung Library has once again become an inclusive, child-friendly space by holding Kindergarten Playdate activities, in collaboration with the Early Childhood Islamic Education Study Program (Piaud), Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTIK). This activity was attended by approx 300 students from 6 Kindergarten schools in the Tulungagung area and surrounding areas, namely Geger Kindergarten, Nglurup Kindergarten, KB Khalifa, RA AL Hikmah, RA Al Hidayah, and TK Hidayatul Mubtadien.
Carrying the spirit of literacy from an early age, This activity is designed not only to be fun, but also educational, with various activities such as motor activities, playdate interactive, library tour, coloring competition, until parenting class which is intended for parents of students.
The Head of the UIN SATU Tulungagung Library said that this activity was part of the library's commitment to expanding the reach of services to the community, especially young children.
“We want to make the library a fun learning space from an early age. Literacy doesn't just start from school, but can be introduced through exciting and meaningful experiences,” he said.
Meanwhile, session parenting class which is facilitated by PIAUD Study Program lecturers and becomes a reflective space for student guardians. In this session, discussed the importance of introducing reading material to children from an early age, and the role of parents in forming reading habits at home.
During library tour, Children are introduced to various collections of children's books, child-friendly reading area, and be involved in simple exploration activities to foster curiosity about books and the reading room. The coloring competition held helped strengthen children's creativity in a fun academic environment.
It is hoped that this activity will become an ongoing agenda as part of efforts to make the library a center for lifelong learning and strengthen synergy between campuses, public, and the world of early childhood education.
