Get to know more about plagiarism (Part 1)

The term plagiarism comes from English plagiarism or plagiary as well as in Latin Planet which means kidnapper or pengiplak. So plagiarism or plagiarism is an act of stealing partially or the whole other people's work/ ideas without including the source and claiming to be his own work.

According to the Minister of Education Regulation National Republic of Indonesia No.17 years 2010 explainplagiarism is an act in order to Deliberately or Unintentionally  in obtaining or trying to obtain credit or value for a scientific work, with quoting in part or all works and /or scientific work of other parties recognized as scientific work, without declaring the source precisely and adequate.

So many types, form, and the types of plagiarism, However, there are several forms of plagiarism that often occur in the scope of tertiary institutions that are important to know, Among them:

1. Ghostwriter (shadow writer)

Is a form of total plagiarism action (complete plagiarism), This happens when someone else writes a paper for someone who then the paper is recognized as his own work.

2. Copas or copy paste

This action is the easiest to be carried out by students because there is no supervision by other parties and the lack of respect to appreciate the work of others.

3. Forgot quotes

This often happens to writing direct quotations, where there are clear rules regarding the procedures for writing direct and indirect quotations. However, due to the lack of student understanding of the rules so that there was an accidental plagiarism.

4. There is no initial and end of paraphrase

Paraphrase is a disclosure of a concept with the language style of the seller without changing its original meaning. Paraphrase is used when describing a concept and research results but still guided by the concept. Despite using your own language, but there are clear rules regarding indirect quotations including the initial limit until the end of the parafrase so as not to be biased by the results of the author's own thoughts.

5. Forget or wrong in writing sitations (number, year)

Although trivial but this mistake often occurs in the scope of college, And if it is related to a work, it means related to copyright. The need for accuracy and understanding for students in writing citations. At present there are a variety of sitations that make it easier for us to do scientific writing.
